Good alternative, but annual billing is a commitment

I've been using Fireflies.ai for a while, but decided to check out MeetGeek since it popped up on a deal site. I primarily needed Automated Transcription for my Zoom and Google Meet calls, and MeetGeek handles that perfectly. The quality is on par, and I appreciate the API Access option which is something I'm looking to integrate down the line. My only real gripe is that to get any kind of discount, you pretty much have to commit to an annual billing cycle. It would be nice to see more options for monthly promos or referral bonuses outside of that.

So happy with MeetGeek!

Oh my goodness, MeetGeek is a lifesaver! I just got the AI Meeting Assistant and it's fantastic. The Zoom Integration worked perfectly, and I love the Meeting Insights. It's truly amazing how it captures everything. I'm telling everyone at work about this. Will absolutely be renewing my subscription! What a great tool!

Great value, clear benefits

I was looking for a way to cut down on meeting notes and found MeetGeek. I opted for the annual plan for the 20% savings, which felt like a good deal compared to monthly. The ordering process was straightforward online, and I received my confirmation email quickly. I started using the Automated Transcription and AI Meeting Summaries right away, mostly with Google Meet Integration. The transcription accuracy is quite good, though occasionally it struggles with very specific jargon, which is understandable. The summaries are concise and usually hit the main points. I did contact support once about exporting to a different format, and they responded within a few hours with a helpful link. Overall, it's definitely worth the investment for the time it saves me.

Always reliable service

I've been using MeetGeek for over a year now, mainly for the Automated Transcription and AI Meeting Summaries. This last purchase, an annual plan upgrade, was as smooth as ever. No issues with billing or access. The quality of the summaries is still consistently good, which is why I keep coming back. It really helps keep track of action items from our weekly syncs.

Good deal on annual plan

I checked out MeetGeek because I needed a better way to manage notes from client calls. The annual plan discount was a big draw for me. It worked out cheaper than some competitors I looked at, and the features like Meeting Recording and AI Summaries covered what I needed. The whole setup process was pretty simple, and I felt I got good value for my money. It felt like a smart purchase.

Mostly good, some minor points

I've been using MeetGeek for a couple of months now, mainly for the Meeting Summaries and Action Item Extraction. The service itself is robust, and the Google Meet Integration works seamlessly. Delivery of the summaries is always prompt after a meeting. However, I noticed that sometimes the Action Item Extraction can miss a few nuances, requiring me to go back and tweak it. It's a small thing, but it means I can't rely on it 100% without a quick review. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about multi-language transcription, which was a plus. Overall, it's a solid tool, just not completely perfect on the AI extraction every single time.

Is MeetGeek secure for confidential stuff? My team talks about sensitive client info sometimes and I'm a bit paranoid.

O Omar D. 2 months ago
I use it for work and we handle HIPAA stuff, and my company's compliance team signed off on it. They have pretty robust security features, like data encryption and stuff. You can also control who sees the recordings.

Yeah, I think they mention their security measures on their website. It's generally safe, they don't just store everything out in the open. You can always check their privacy policy for the nitty-gritty.

Hey, does MeetGeek ever do lifetime deals? Saw one for another service a while back and kicking myself for missing it.

N Nick T. 2 months ago
Yeah, they did an AppSumo deal like a year or two ago I think. Not sure if they'll do another one, those are usually one-offs for new products.

Highly doubt it tbh. Most SAAS moves away from lifetime deals once they get established. Your best bet is probably the annual discount or waiting for a Black Friday promo.

What's the typical discount if you switch to annual billing? Trying to convince my boss to go for it.

D David 2 months ago
Last I checked, it was around 20-30% off compared to monthly. It's a pretty good chunk saved over a year.

C Colin 2 months ago
It's usually a solid 20% off. Worth it if you're planning to use it consistently. They sometimes have seasonal promos too, but the annual saving is always there.

Thinking of getting MeetGeek, how does it compare to Fireflies.ai? I mostly use it for quick summaries and action items.

T Todd 1 month ago
I switched from Fireflies to MeetGeek a few months ago. For summaries, I think MeetGeek is a bit better, it really nails the key takeaways. Fireflies was good too, but sometimes felt a bit more generic.

Fireflies has some cool features too, but I found MeetGeek's integration with HubSpot really smooth if you're doing a lot of sales calls. The sentiment analysis is also pretty decent for understanding how calls went.

Does anyone know if they have a student discount? My university email should work right?

I Ivy Walsh 2 months ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I saw something about it on their site, check their FAQs or contact support. Usually, you just need to verify your student email.

J James 2 months ago
Yep, they definitely have one. I signed up with my student email last semester, it was a pretty sweet deal. Just look for the education section on their site.
